ANTH 300 - Hist.Anthropological Thought Credits: 4
Anthropological thought in Western societies from 19th century to present, corresponding to period of emergence of anthropology as an academic discipline. Developments related to broader historical context of changing social, political, economic circumstances. Attention to knowledge production in anthropology; significance of contemporary anthropology; and correlative developments in sociology, psychology, human biology. Offered every academic year. Prerequisites: ANTH 114, 118, 170, 166, 167, 168, OR 169; and one upper-level (300/400-level) course in Anthropology or consent of instructor.
