The School of the Arts at Binghamton University provides a dynamic environment for academic and creative excellence across the disciplines of art & design, art history, cinema, music, and theatre. The curriculum offers a strong foundation in artistic creation, critical theory, and historical context, preparing students for advanced study and professional careers in the arts and a wide range of other fields. Majors and minors receive rigorous training and individualized mentorship from faculty who are deeply committed to teaching excellence, interdisciplinary exploration, and innovative practice. The School of the Arts emphasizes experimentation, collaboration, and critical engagement, empowering students to shape the future of the arts and to apply their skills and insights across diverse fields and industries.

Students also benefit from exceptional opportunities through collaborations with the Binghamton University Art Museum, the Anderson Center for the Performing Arts, and the Creative Writing program. Situated within a prestigious R-1 research university,  our students can seamlessly blend the arts with disciplines like engineering, business, STEM, and the humanities, giving them the creative edge for careers both within and outside the arts.
