Public Health Minor
|

This 24-credit undergraduate minor in Public Health uses a hands-on, active learning approach to expose students to the scientific foundations and core epidemiologic principles of public health. The minor is open to all undergraduate students and will augment many other undergraduate bachelor’s degree programs, especially for those interested in public health.

Application and Admission Requirements
- Minimum GPA 2.5
- Unofficial transcript
- Personal statement (300-500 words) that details your interest in the Public Health Minor and how this minor can contribute to your academic and/or career goals.
- Complete the online application and upload your personal statement as well as a copy of your up-to-date unofficial transcript.
NOTE: There are no prerequisites for the Public Health Minor Public Health Minor Curriculum
The Public Health minor requires 24 credits and consists of six core courses: - PH 301 - History of Public Health
- HWS 341 - Plan Implement Eval HE Prog
- PH 312 Adopting Healthy Habits: The Art & Science of Health Behavior Change (4 credits)
- PH 318 Health & Place: How Neighborhoods Shape Our Lives (4 credits)
- PH 320 Disease Detectives: Investigating Epidemics around the World (4 credits)
- PH 322 Communicating Health Information in the Digital Age (4 credits)
Additional Information About the Program
Grade Requirements: - Only courses passed with a grade of C- or better may be counted toward fulfilling the requirements for the Public Health Minor.
Residency Requirements: A minimum of 12 credits in the Public Health Minor must be taken in residence at Binghamton University. |
